Kumiko and I went on our annual snow trip in early February. This year we decided on Nagano Prefecture. We stayed one night at a "minshuku"(like a bed and breakfast) in a ski area called Norikura Kogen. On the way there, we stopped at Matsumoto (Nagano's main city) and checked out the local castle. The next day, we took a train to an historic village. We stayed at an old ryokan (traditional hotel), which was incredibly cold and had bad food. The following day, we stopped in Nagoya on our way back to Osaka. We were on a quest for a special type of chicken (Nagoya Kochin) which is only produced there. We found some, and it tasted like chicken. We are convinced, however, that there is better kochin out there, so that's still a quest item for the future. I took lots of pictures, as usual.
