FESTIVAL!

Ahh, I love this part of summer. I was glad to see this little festival went for two days. I stumbled across it on the first, and came back to take some photos and record some of the music the next evening. There are tons of these local festivals throughout the summer, and some big famous ones as well. The main attractions are:

bon dancing around the central structure girls and kids wearing yukata taiko drumming fun, old bon dance music

food on a stick kids competing to catch goldfish with paper nets kids running around having fun strings of lanterns hanging from the trees

I ran into my mother-in-law, and Kazuomi and Chiaki and Daichi by chance. We all joined the dance. I took some short movies with my digital camera to get the sound. The video is dark, but you can get the idea.
